Can someone explain the pricing logic on the DLC?
I mean, is it just a middle finger to those of us who already bought the movie?

Everyone says this when every DLC comes out for anything ever. You paid for content. You were happy. Here's more content you may choose to pay for. You should be thrilled that it isn't withheld content like some DLC is for certain games. At least we know for a fact that this content was filmed AFTER the launch of the movie.

Don't buy it if you don't like the price. It's that simple.

Why do i feel that the people who will ♥♥♥♥♥ about this are the same people who bought the game during a game bundle for 1 cent?

Here's the logic behind the price: Five dollars is better than one dollar.

I'm not complaining about the dlc existing. I'm glad to see it, and I'll happily watch it. (For the record, I didn't get it in a bundle, I bought it here, from the store.)

I just don't understand why the movie + dlc is priced to disadvantage the previous customers.

well from a business perspective it make sense if/to set the combo package slightly cheaper

Dunno what it's priced as in $ but in € you actually save 0,01€ by buying the Movie and the dlc separately.

Movie 7,99€
DLC 4,99€
S.Ed.12,99€

Soo... unless the $ pricing is very different, then I don't see what your on about.

Facepalm ! ... this is a first, hopefully it will be last as well, or else HW will catch on and you will have to pay DLC in cinemas :))
Bloody hell is a damn movie ... Name it Indie Game 2, Indie Game Adendum(Zeitgheist :D ) find any other name, just don't give more ideas to ♥♥♥♥♥s who will do anything to squeeze more money from consumers.

People who bought physical copies are truly the unlucky ones. Of course free upgrades are always preferred, however it makes at least some sense for paid DLC, as more time and money was put in to create this content, i.e. it wasn't just lying on the cutting room floor (which is like the video game equivalent of on-disc DLC you have to pay to unlock).

I didn't actually visit the community forums to talk about the DLC (I didn't even know about it). I just thought it was kind of funny that a documentry had trading cards here on Steam (just noticed the title today when looking at my badges page =p).

its a special edition upgrade. its like going to a movie store and deciding if you want the $10 movie only dvd or the $20 2 disc version with extra's and neat case. And if you bought the regular edition and then wanted the 2-disc later on, you would have to pay in full for it. I think the idea of buying the SE as a dlc is awesome.

You actually save 1 cent buying them seperately, so if anyone is getting the virtual middle finger, it's the people buying the bundle. ;) It is a bit weird having the price set up like that, but at 1 cent, only the true whiners will complain.

No one is unlucky. Most people got this movie from a Humble Bundle or on a sale, the physical copies are physical, and they're special. They aren't giving a middle finger to anyone by putting more work into editing and compositing way more content for the SE than they did for the original release. It also came out years later, so what are you complaining about?

O NO WE HAVE TO PAY FOR IT AFTER WE ALREADY BOUGHT IT, you've all just been spoiled by Steam's glorious sales and charity. Imagine if you bought a movie on DVD in a store, and then a 25th Anniversary version comes out with four discs, do you expect someone to ship you that version for free? ♥♥♥♥ no, you're paying $30 extra. Enjoy.

goddammit, I'M NOT GRIPING ABOUT PAYING FOR MORE CONTENT.

I bought the movie when it came out. I am going to buy the dlc.
The movie costs $10, the dlc $5, but if you buy them together, it's just $14.
So, because I bought the movie before the dlc came out, I have to pay an extra $1 for the dlc.
It's not the end of the world. It's just a dollar, I understand that, I would just like to understand why that sort of pricing decision is made because it seems like a ♥♥♥♥ move towards the people who bought it in the first place.
