This was on Channel 4 in the UK
Should be free imo for advertising, this is why I brought Fez and Super Meat Boy.

So you're saying the people behind the games featured should pay because they are getting free advertising?

They got money from this buy letting netflix, Channel 4 and even selling it that now I think the people that haven't seen it will not see it so best to make it free for the exposure of their games. I wouldn't have gotten the games if I hadn't of seen this so it made them money.

The problem is that the people behind the documentary aren't the developers featured in the documentary. So, giving it away for free will just mean those people lose out on any potential future income, whilst those featured in the documentary will get even more free advertising.

Might be worth giving the guys that made the documentary 5% of the sale of games? Or maybe buy the rights to the documentary, I do think it is very good advertisment is all.

You can't do a documentary on games and game development without featuring the actual games. It would be akin to saying a documentary on drug use is an advert for drugs.

Because that would be how bad drugs are, the documentary was about how good the games were, they looked awesome so I brought some of them.

No, the documentary was about how the games were made, you cannot ignore the fact they were big successes. Nobody wants to watch the development of another fart-app.
