And no... I refuse to play with a controller, seriously.
Are you serious?
Mouse is probably easier. It's like relative touch controls for shmups on touchscreens.
that is the most backwards player mentality i have encountered in a shmup discussion, even more backwards than all of sine mora's design flaws combined (no hitbox hilite in gameplay for instance).
it's funnier than dismissing street fighter because of keyboard controls when there is a healthy variety of input options.
the standard input for both shmups and fg's is either stick or dpad, ♥♥♥♥♥ after you fail with both of those but not for mouse controls ffs.
p.s. mouse sens works well with my setup. your configuration has ruined your game, fault is on you. toggle your acceleration on and off to test a difference. i recommend knowing what you are doing before you open your mouth without knowing what you are talking about.
If mouse is an option it should work...period.
it may not be your ideal, it may not be THE ideal, but if its presented as an option it should be functional.
The only problem is when you have to cross large distances very quickly. It moves too slow. But once you play it enough, you learn where to go before anything happens :D
