I would have never thought that a game would be able to provoke such feelings of empathy, especially towards the characters of that said game. Nevertheless, they truely did it. I laughed, I cried, I smiled. To The Moon is one of those rare games that are able to get those emotions out of you. I'll be truthful, I picked this up subconsiously thinking along the lines of 'why the heck not, its dirt cheap in the sale!' and thought nothing more of it, that was until five minutes later I loaded it up. My, have I never been so wrong. Instantly I was grasped to the storyline, I loved the characters laid before and the art styling running with the retro vibe fits it perfectly, I wouldn't simply have it any other way in fact. It's not possible to call it 'just a game' but rather an experience, or moreover, a journey of sorts. I'll admit, I didn't want it to end, I don 't think anyone that has played through it would disagree, the four to five hours I spent playing it were absolutely pure gold, the quality surely outrules the quantity. Elaborating upon that, anything longer could have potentially tarnished teh brilliant shine it has. I'll agree that some may argue it has a sense of pointlessness in terms of what your aims are, however that really doesn't matter in my eyes.
I'd recommend it to, I'd go the extent of even saying, everyone. There's something for everyone in my opinion here, this will forever be a game that I will remember. I can see myself picking it up on the odd occasion in the future and just playing through it again and again as I know that it will never fail to pull at my heartstrings and grip me to the story.
Summary: Buy it.
