Ahem-em... Hrmmm! What? No I didn't cry, I didn't...
Okay... maybe just a little ૮´︵ ` ა
I've... been straying astray from what got me into video games in the first place as a child...
Back in the good old days when game developers created master-piece games most of which were in 2D it was all about the original unique trial and error story-telling and new attempts to try out new styles of how to go about making a game since it was something new, cheesy lovable characters, cool/cute characters, character development, albeit this game was short, we learned so much from just experiencing ones past. That goes far beyond deep character development in a new perspective.
Now if you will excuse me...
I have a very large list of 199x-early 2000 video games to pull out of their dusty retirement.
I must reconcile with my already breaking heart and remember what a true game feels like.
**Sure, let's go play a game about todays decapitating other players, shooting them, yelling at each other, putting people down. Graphics this, Graphics that! 3Dvs2D This! 3Dvs2D That! Cheesy Dialog this, Cheesy Dialog that.
People need to get off their high horses, but then again most of these people with negative reviews more than likely never played any classic JRPGs of the SNES/PS1 eras so it's understandable if they don't get such a moving story.
That being said very few developers still create amazing games that FOCUS primarily on character developments and very touching moving storylines, mostly done indie developers.
