Why does the gun have a timer
Really I know you can hold people at gunpoint but if you everwant to use you have to follow the timer

I think the timer goes off after you shoot the gun, and when it runs out a sniper appears at the subway exit and sharp shoots ya when he sees you.

Why would they add that.

To make you actually form a strategy to beat a level instead of going in and spamming your Resolver.

True but for a thousand dollars and for gun that only has seven shells thats crazy

It's fairly easy to get one thousand dollars, but I really do wish they at least had an option to buy more ammo.

How about this question:

"Why is it that the sniper only comes when you shoot a gun and kill someone but now when you punch someone to death?"

Because gunshots are extremely loud and punching someone to death is relatively more quiet. The Sniper hears the gunshots but it takes him time to go to the station and set up (hence the timer). The Sniper cannot hear you punching the guy to death. Therefore, the Sniper does not arrive.

The gun's more to get you out of a sticky situation then to go in guns ablaze. I think they just wanted you to use it to keep a guard at bay for a second so you can jump away to safety.

You can get more bullets by enabling the resolver in the level editor

If you notice: in the storyline, the city BANNED all guns... so gunfire will get immediate response from the Police/Sniper. The pistol is a last resort or you can use it for intimidation.

I don't mind the timer on the gun; it's more or less there to encourage you not to go through a level shooting everyone (except maybe Gessler and Hightower). The gun is really about walking right up to people's faces without them shooting you back. Hold them up so that you can just walk past them or have them backstep into whatever traps you've laid (crushed by a ceiling door anyone?). It adds a neat level of strategy to levels, allowing you to almost brute force your way past a guard or two rather than going around.

Storywise it does make sense given the city has a ban on guns, though it doesn't make sense when you get shot at and the guards miss; why don't they get police response? I can understand it when you're investigating the cops themselves, but how come Rooke and Intex guards don't have to deal with snipers?
