Advancing and Back Out Issues on both Keyboard and Gamepad

Hi All, basically I'm trying to play JSR with a Turbo3 controller from HORI. It works fine when I use xpadder, except the A and B buttons do not work when I reach certain menus. When I switched to keyboard I found that this still happens. Example: Launch game - > Bonus Menu -> Cannot select anything or go back!!!! Any anyone provide any advice as to why this is happening? Do you NEED an xbox controller to play this game? I didn't see any notification that it was required :(

Doesnt matter when running the xbox pad software found in other thread, I removed the arcade stick I had in my pc, which was reading as controller 1. Now the game is working fine for me. :)
