I have a 360 controller and I want to use it for my pc
I have a xbox 360 controller that I use on my xbox and I was wondering if I can use it on my pc? if so please tell me how in full detail as I am bad with computers and barely understand this sort of thing

Yes you can but didn't you already read this? http://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-controller-for-windows-info Theese show how to set it up, adjust or troubleshoot it this time. If you have a wired 360 Controller then it can install it as a new driver once you connect it where the USB slot is. The windows version I know the driver installation only work is windows 7 or higher. I don't know about Windows XP/Vista/Linux but you can caliberate it's controls as well.

im probly not helping much but i use a 360 controller and it works/mapped to keys automatically when i started playing for me.

problem is when I tried that it said that because I used a USB cable I needed to treat it as a wired controller and it still didn't work

Try reinstalling and uninstalling the controller driver thing like the other thread and you'll might get it working.
