Pendulo's Latest Reduced to This?
This game and those that follow in its example are the death of point and click adventures!

Good point and click adventures consisted of long elaborate stories to compensate for the lack of everything else, like: lack of gameplay, variety, etc. This game's dollar value ratio is: $30/4hours of game (and I'm counting the cut sequences).

What a far cry from "The Walking Dead," "Sherlock Holmes" (pick one), and - dare I say - the original point and click "Dream Fall" which came out like 10 years ago!

This is not even a third of a game! Award-winning films that cost millions of dollars to produce end up costing $15 to own the Blu-Ray.

The reason why critics didn't tear this game apart is because they get their copies for free. If I got this game for free, I wouldn't complain; it's awesome for a 4-hour game! For gamers - those for whom games are made - this game represents paying top dollar for minimal value.

*Shaking head in shame, confusion, and dissapointment.*

That's why you wait until it's on sale for 75% off. I would have buyers remorse if I paid full price for this game though at $6.79 I didn't care much about the brevity of the game at that price. I enjoyed the story, not taking price into account.

I had also gotten the game on sale; however, that doesn't change its introductory price point.
If Pendulo is like many of the major publishers out there, they have someone scouting and reading posts and reviews by gamers to get an idea on what they want to see. The aim of my post is to point out to Pendulo that as a regular customer, and as a gamer who normally enjoys point and click adventure titles, I've noticed, and I hope that in the future they don't make this their new standard.

I feel like Shark Tank's Kevin O'leary when I say this; but, they're valuing their game at $7.50 per hour -- the same price per-hour as Paramount, New Line, and Universals' multi million-dollar productions as soon as they hit theaters. It's insulting.

Pendulo: to get an idea of what a $30 price-point should be, checkout the Testament of Sherlock Holmes.

Yesterday was my favorite pendulo game by far. In fact, this is one of the few adventure games I've liked lately -- deponia and book of unwritten tales had some grossly unintuitive puzzles.
I thought the others in the pendulo pack were terrible except for Runaway 3.

I also liked Testament of Sherlock holmes, that was definitely a good game. The old jack the ripper game is excellent also.

I paid full price, and while I was disappointed by the length of the game it's been one of my favorite adventure games in recent years.

Pendulo's other games never really clicked with me, so personally I'd be incredibly happy if they went with this style. Obviously having it be longer or cheaper would make it a much better purchase, but I feel that the quality of the time I did spend with it was very high.

I just finished this game and i got it on sale. IMHO, it wasn't even worth the sale price. I was bored and almost fell asleep a few times. I didn't care for the graphics style, the gameplay was dated, tooooo much talking; I was very disapponted and almost quit several times.

I preordered the game and thought the length was okay (but then again I got The Next Big Thing as well with the pre-order).
