EverQuest Free-to-Play

EverQuest Free-to-Play

Cannot play game
I downloaded the game, and when I tried to play it, it said that the game could not be played because "d3dx9_43.dll" is missing.

Well, I uninstalled and then reinstalled, but now I can't figure out how to get to Everquest.

you didn't have to do that, but if you used steam to install, then it's in your gqames.

Also, try validating local files.

It looks like I'm going to have to go elsewhere to download EQ. This is the second time I've tried to download it from Steam, and the second time I've gotten the missng dll message.

Ok, I tried downloading directx9.0c runtime distributable, but it says it won't work on windows 10.

then just download the regular DirectX runtime distributable, and it should update directX and make EQ work.

"posting for others to see" uninstall game from steam and go to the everquest website and download the game from there. this will download the game and missing dx9 drivers that are missing from the steam install.
