GFWL still required?
I bought this game a while back and without realizing that it required GFWL. I was hoping that the game has been out long enough that this requirment has been stripped out so that I might give this game a shot.

Unless you're also an Xbox 360 owner, then its a real plus as you can obtain lots of Gamerscore for your Xbox live profile.

I won't be playing it either thanks to this gfwl crap. So called piracy doesn't even hurt sales. The greed on these people is astounding. Oh well, on to retribution.

You act as if GFWL destroys your computer or something. Yes, it can be annoying at times and it often screws up forcing you to reinstall it or some such, but I'm not going to let minor issues stop me from playing a good game. To think, if I skipped out on this game or Dark Souls because of GFWL, I would have missed out on some amazing experiences.

That sounds extreme. Yes it is lame but not worth passing over this awesome game (single player).

I'm not passing, I'm being passed. I'm waiting for them to remove it. If they don't, that's them.

You better play it while you can, come July GFWL is getting shut down and the chances of this getting patched to have it removed are EXTREMELY slim considering Relic isn't around and I don't see anyone else picking it up to change around the code. So then you will have a game that is not only worthless, but one you cannot play. And don't go crying to Steam or anyone else demanding a refund because you won't get one, at all.

If gamers and fans tolerate that, so be it. We deserve to be exploited in that case.
Lozzle Feb 5, 2014 @ 4:20pm
Tolerate what? We have no control over GFWL shutting down. You act as if GFWL doesn't work or harms your computer. It's ♥♥♥♥, yes, it has problems but there are solutions to those problems and if you don't want to play games you are interested in and paid for due to some minor inconveniences, then I feel sorry for you.

Tolerate being sold an unplayable game while having no legal recourse. If GFWL is shut down, and this game becomes totally unplayable and they keep selling it and we tolerate that as a custmer base, well, then I guess we deserve what we get.

This is 50% of why we shouldn't have tolerated GFWL being in the game in the first place. The other 50% would be the other technical issues it causes in every game.

Of course, there's nothing to do about it now. Now that GFWL is a sinking ship, the consumers who accepted it will just have to go down with it, in those cases where the original publisher doesn't care to bail them out. (Bye, GTA4.)

There may be the option of legal action, though. The game is still for sale on Steam, meaning the money is going -somewhere-. Some publisher is still responsible for this steaming pile. They deserve to have to refund us for a dead game. I don't think I've never heard of a publisher being sued for a game becoming unplayable. That has happened with many MMOGs over the years. But in those cases, they probably had disclaimers in their terms that they have no obligation to keep the game running. This is a little different.

I have rarely had a technical issue with GFWL.....it just needed to be on the latest version was all. Besides, there isn't anybody that claims they will keep multiplayer going indefinitely (and they don't, mostly because after a short time it's dead!). You can create an offline profile and still play any GFWL games. People use DRM as an excuse to complain about everything. STEAM is DRM! Honestly, I have had more downtime with Steam then GFWL, uPlay and Origin.

"mostly because after a short time it's dead"? You must be new to PC games, bro. Your suggestion that GFWL works adequately on a technical level is something I don't have the data to refute, although I think my friends who struggled with finding the correct GFWL installer just to get their games to launch would have it.

So is GFWL going to be solidly removed from this and when? Or Relic isn't doing jackshit about this issue?
