I picked up this game since it was on sale and I had played the previous SH v Jack the Ripper. The previous game was enjoyable in spite of the clunky way of moving through the environment. Good story and enjoyable puzzles. The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, however, was an inelegant clickfest from start to finish: clumsy interface, trivial puzzles, extremely awkward navigation through the environment, and a risible storyline full of plot holes, anachronisms, and non sequiturs. (And poor fact checking. For example: Did you know that hygrogen peroxide is called "bleach?" Of course you didn't, because even though it is a bleaching agent, no one calls it bleach. Bleach is sodium hypochlorite.) The game was a shoddy exercise in frustration to be blunt. About the only positive thing I can say is that the voice acting, like previous titles, was quite good. Oh wait, the closing credits were very cool and stylish. If only the gamemakers had put similar effort into the the game itself.
