game.exe has stopped working

I was playing the game, everything was fine, then I exited it and now all I get is this error: game.exe has stopped working. Is there some way to fix this?

I think it was the moment when you have to examine Holmes's hideout in Whitechapel, right after when Watson entered the room. As for dxdiag I'll send it if it's really necessary.

Already fixed it. Funny, I had to apply a no DRM patch to make licensed copy work again

@X-ite_SDF - please , please, tell me where you got your patch? And how did you patch the game (if you got it from steam and not from some other store) ? Frogwares' patch is useless, because it doesn't find installation of the game. :( I have crash in the same place, when trying to go to Whitechapel to find Holmes.
