Won't start :-C

[MRR1550]

I played the yesterday just fine, but today it won't start.

I tried to reinstall.. nothing
I tried the admin way ... it then comes up with error PhysXLoader.dll missing. i found and another tread where it said to find the folder and copy it to the dame folder, i did... nothing, still says it's missing.

ANy other ideas??????

If you recently installed Nvidia drivers that can corrupt your PhysX instance. I recommend you to re-install Nvidia PhysX from a scratch. Please remove any PhysX installed and reboot your PC first.
To update Nvidia PhysX please download installation packages with the links below, run them and follow on-screen guide
Here are the links to latest version:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.0604-legacy-driver.html

Please install both and don't forget to reboot your PC after.

The log-files say, the gfx-board can´t be initialised. PhysX or not. The whole Sherlock Holmes Series doesn´t run on modern Nvidia-Boards like Geforce 1080. What an irony, as the game brags with Nvidia-Support.

I had the same problem
I solved it by downloading physxloader.dll. It was missing from my computer. It won't say you that when lauching from steam, but if you go Properties/Browse Local Files and launch the game.exe will give an error saying that.

Sorry to say I tried that without success so I'm afraid it's going to have to be a refund from me. I'll keep the game on my watchlist though and will probably buy again if I see you have chance to invest in some compatibility maintenence even if it does mean dealing with non sale pricing

Just have to drop de Physxloader.dll into the file C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common

I can't get the game to start either. I downloaded both the Nvidia program and the Legacy Driver, and the folder already has the Physxloader.dll file. Any idea what else the problem might be?

Check the "Quarantine Files" on your Antivirus. Avast on my PC detected the game.exe as a suspected file. So I saved the file back and added to exception list on Avast so the file won't go back to quarantine. Finally, I restarted the PC and problem has been solved.
