Not working anymore
From what I have read this won't work if you updated to the big picture beta, even after uninstalling and reinstalling the basic version. They claim it's all x64 bit games on steam after updating to big picture but I haven't verified that. Hopefully a fix comes soon, but with the new release looming I can't imgaine they have a lot of resources dedicated to this.

Yes, there is a problem with 64 bit applications on Steam. We are working with Valve to resolve it since it affects 3DMark 11 too. Hopefully, Steam will get an update soon.

I picked 3dmark 11 up during the holiday sale. One day it worked, then the next I got nothing. I have 3DMARK 11 so yes I to hope this issue is resolved or refunded or something. It is very frustrating. If anyone has found a work around it would really be helpful

The only workaround at the moment is to take a backup of your steamapps folder, remove whole Steam, install it again (without enabling Beta opt-in) and then putting back the installed applications. Very messy and not something I can recommend. Just backing out of the Steam beta unfortunately won't do it.

Steam is working on it to fix this also for the beta client. Apologies, but it'll take a bit of time. This is not unique to 3DMark 11 - it would happen with any 64bit applications. 3DMark just happens to be one of the few in Steam at the moment.
