Yeah or you can try solving things on you own, looking for the whole lot info that there is already on the subject.
Waiting usually doesn't get you anywhere but where you already are...

none of the solutions ive found got me anywhere, even changing region to USA (which is not even a solution, thats just ridiculous)
And i saw a promise that some patch will be released, that will solve the problem, since almost everyone cant even start the game, but that patch never came out...

Yeah, I haven't had any luck either. Tried what's been suggested and it still crashes before the intro video plays. I'm using Windows 8 though so I suspect that could be the problem

Edit: And I just fixed it. Examining the crash logs I noticed the crash was occurring while trying to access a file called lgvid.ax that was a part of the installation of another game (my System Shock 2 installation):

Faulting module name: lgvid.ax, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x325977a7
Faulting application path: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Hell Yeah\HELLYEAH.exe
Faulting module path: D:\Games\System Shock 2\lgvid.ax

I guess it was trying to use that file (I'm assuming it's some kind of video codec) to play the videos. Deleting it also fixed a problem I was having with video in a game called Chime.

where did you find the crash logs?

Sorry about your troubles, Ardeko doesn't have the man power to have testing on many PC configuration so they basically used the Microsoft guildlines for XNA games.
Which is like a bare minimum.
I am actually surprised there were not more problems.
It's sucks to be in the bad range though...

About the patch, There was none to be expected, I helped with the first one, so there was one, but there won't be more.
Yeah it's sucks... I am trying my best to help around here, but I don't even have the privilege to make sticky post or anything which sucks too...
it's out of Arkedo's hands actually.

Windows 8 ? oh... that for sure they didn't test on that. It's like the wild west...

The codec problems with video is just the worse problem with this game, that probably the number one issue with the game.
Users can only tweak the thing and hope it works... so this forum is your best bet to find help and a solution form other users.
On W8, I can't help you, I am running Xp and 7 only.

You could try a compatibility post about W8 to poke at other users if they visit here...
Isn't there a "run as window 7 app" or something ? (compatibility mode)
It could help...

In Event Viewer under Administrative Tools in the Control Panel. The crash should be logged under Application in the pane on the left. Might want to run the game first to get a fresh crash at the top!

Thanks for the information, both of you.
I guess i'll have to try more of those sadistic methods, like deinstalling video codecs etc.
Pretty troublesome, though

Might I ask what your problem is before you try those "sadistic methods" (assuming you haven't already)?

Tried everything i could find on the forums, from cache verifying and to changing regional setting, all i've got for my efforts is that now Magicka wont work too

If you're running an AMD system you may need a bios update.

Well, tell us your system specs and we'll all work from there. Maybe
