Rocksmith for Mac & PC
I've not seen this addressed anywhere yet, and CS did not give me a meaningful answer. I have been playing RS on my MacBook Pro in a Boot Camp partition running Windows 7. I was very excited to hear the 2014 version coming out for Mac platform. What I want to know is: When I install my Mac version, will my PC game and DLC songs be compatible/transferable to run in the native Max OS? If so, how? If not, can I acquire them cheaply since I've already paid for them?

Thanks for any help.

i belive that the DLC crosses over for free, however if you want the stock songs from the first game you have you pay i believe. We can't really confirm anything until the game comes out. As for the Compatibility, it will work.

I haven't seen them say that the DLC for PC will also go to Mac. If they are both on steam, maybe. But they have said that DLC won't cross platforms. But that has been between Playstation, Xbox and PC. I'd wait and see.

Most of the RS1 songs and all your DLC will transfer to your RS2014 Steam account. It doesn't matter whether you use Windows or Mac. You can even use both if you want (although only one at a time).
I said "most", because the developers were not able to renew the license for 7 on-disc songs.

Thanks for the replies. I'm really quite new to Steam, and Rocksmith is my only game from them. I guess we'll see how it pans out. I have another question, for which I'll start a new thread sometime.

all dlc will work with rocksmith 2014 but you can not use old dlc from different platforms. i.e. if you have rocksmith on playstation you can not transfere the tunes to rocksmith 2014 pc. but playstation will be ok. I have had to buy this now on playstation and on pc as the playstation version was just to slow for me. and the Dlc I have on playstation I have to buy again :S
