Game freeze on start

After last update the game freezes and I have to kill the game with the help of the taskmanager.
Running windows 8 and newest driver for my 6950. Any tips? File integrity was intact, but I have yet to reinstall the game.

This is almost certainly caused by your sound settings. Make sure that it is set to Stereo (not 5.1 or 7.1) and also set to the highest sample rate. I've had this problem several times when changing drivers.
