Rocksmith is getting bigger and bigger! (12.215 MB)
I mean this frequently updates, with about 80MB of new content.
We need to tell the Rocksmith Team to find another way without 80MB updates every month.
Any Ideas ?

Music in it's raw recorded form can be more than 80mb by itself. I know, I've record for bands before. 80mbs is 3-4 songs in one update along with the on screen ♥♥♥♥ to show you how to play it. I think you're being unrealistic, if you don't want the update, set steam to prevent it. But don't complain about the size, they are releasing new material frequently, and it means when you do go and buy DLC you don't have to wait to play it from then. I reckon it's a bloody great idea.

No I like the new content (Bought 3 dlc's already).
I just thought this updates are for the Rocksmith shop are they? (<--Song Preview)

Yeah I think they actually add the extra bits to the ingame store + the demo music of the songs etc. In saying that, sometimes the download size of DLC seems disproportionate to how big I think they would be, perhaps the game updates are everything except the raw full mp3's of the DLC.

The game updates with new songs as they come out, I think all that isn't included is some sort of file type that actually gives ownership of the music. Every time I've bought a song pack it's only had to download no more than 10mb. There is no way they could fit an mp3(or whatever they use, mp3 is very compressed file type usually) and the note overlay for 3 songs into a file that size.

It's a love/hate kinda thing looking into it, I'm glad that the songs I've bought were available to play in game a lot quicker, and I didn't have to wait to DL them, but I don't like having loads of songs that I just won't touch at all sitting in my system, taking up space. So yeah, having a bit more of a think about it, I can see where you are coming from OP, however I can't decide which side of the fence I'd choose.

I just checked local file size for both Rocksmith games and
Rocksmith is 12242 MB (bought 11 DLC songs)
while
Rocksmith 2014 is only 6602 MB (no DLC songs)

I don't understand why the first Rocksmith takes up so much space.

Yes, kinda weird.
