this Game doesn't even play past the first few notes.
I bought this game on boxing day during the steam sale. I also have a working and tested Patch->usb cord. I am able to get past the tutorial but I cannot play any of the songs or play any of the minigames. Most of the time I Crash during the Tuning Step, while its checking my strings. IF I'm lucky enough to make it past the tuning step then the game crashes after the first note. Ive already gone through the Rocksmith Troubleshoot guide on about 5 different websites. i need some help

Same problem here

I had a lot of problems with the game at first, mostly crashing and game stopping picking up notes in the middle of songs. I was able to get rid of all of my issues by unplugging every USB device I had and slowly adding them back one at a time to isolate the problem.

The devices that seemed to cause my issues were a USB wifi adapter, a mobile broadband card, and a wireless keyboard w/builtin joystick. If I don't have any of those devices plugged in, Rocksmith plays like a champ.

Hope that helps.

I have meet the minimum requirements. and the game plays perfectly smooth throughout the Tutorial. I'm using an Epiphone Les Paul with plain Analog pickups. The only usb devices I have installed and plugin in at the moment, Is my Logitech Wireless Keyboard+Mouse. Ill go ahead and try to remove them. but I don't know how I'm suppose to use the program. since i don't own a Regular non-usb Mouse. Any more ideas?

This is why i bought the whole package including guitar for Xbox 360. Works 100% all the time.
Xbox 360 version is also natived support by Windows 7 and 8, but also works on XP etc.. with the official 360 drivers from MS for non Win 7 and 8 OS'es.

Yeah some computers have USB power issues, it sucks. Not just a rocksmith thing, happens with usb recording equipment. There's some settings in windows somewhere that allow you to change power settings for USB, I think maybe in the device manager, I don't really remember.

I dont' think it's a power related issue, since i have 3 USB hubs, and rocksmith cable is plugged into a separate hub than any other device.... showing using 1% bandwidth, and power should be 500ma for this unit alone.

other thoughts before i spend lots on removing USB devices i use every day?

oh yeah. Remmebered I was getting issues when plugged into a Rosewill multi-card/usb reader. Used a different USB port and it fixed the problem.

Ahem, from the game info showed each time you launch the game:
"Make sure there is nothing else connected between your guitar and USB cable."
That includes effect processors and pedals from guitar side and USB hubs\extenders from the other side.
If game is still keep crashing after connecting Realtone cable directly to your motherboard, there is might be some problem with your sound card. There is a PDF readme file in /steamapps/common/Rocksmith folder with detailed info how to configure sound device to cause minimum delay and best perfomance.

I think he's not using the real tone cable, using one of the unofficial cables some people have patched to work with the game.
