I bought Windows so I could run Rocksmith, so yeah! I'd love to see it run under Linux.
Personally I don't care about Apple but that's just me.

Do I really have to buy a windows license in order to play it?

You only need to buy a Windows licence if you don't already have a computer running Windows, because the PC version of Rocksmith doesn't run on other operating systems (like OS X or Linux).

It gets my vote!

You can run it on a Mac...just not in OSX. It runs faultlessly on my 4 year old Macbook Pro using Windows 7 in a Bootcamp partition.

I vote it for too. It will probably atlest run someday with wine (if they manage to fix sound problem) and make the real tone cable work.

Not sure about the real tone cable but there is no sound after all either as the game is using wwvise middleware as sound system doesnt work with wine out of the box.

But the graphic seem to work very fast under wine dx9 as far as you can go without real tone cable. So the graphic part isnt problem i think.

Would love to see it working in Linux. Had to buy a spare HD and install windows on my computer just to play R.S. I hate having to reboot to play R.S. I'd probably play 5X as much if I could just start up the program and play without having to reboot.

I was able to solve this problem by upgrading my htpc. You need prob around i3 3220 (i have a10 5800k) + 7750 amd or similar gpu as htpc build to play without framedrops in fullhd.

Tried with 5800k+integrated gpu and the game works ok in training but when you start the performance it lags the bigger the stadion is :\

Decresing to 720 cuts quite bit a lag but doesnt make it playable it performance either.

Another vote for Linux and 64-bit please. I've bought the Windows version, but not managed to install it yet as I don't turn my machine off regularly, it's always in Linux. I'm going to have to buy a new HDD (as the drive I was going to install it on died) to install Windows on specifically for this game and dual boot just for this one game. I'm betting this is a DX game and therefore no OpenGL or any time spent in making the code portable which is not hard - I know, I've done it.

Rocksmith uses Gamebryo, a cross-plattform game-engine. wikipedia tells me it supports linux via OpenGL, but I could not find anything on gamebryo's homepage about this. Currently I am dual-booting, windows is for games only. A linux version of Rocksmith would be awesome.

+1 Do the developers check these forums though?

I would still expect problems even on Linux with the audio side of things. Jack requires a RT linux kernel, which means you either have to dual boot between 2 different linux systems or attempt to run normal apps on a RT Linux kernel, which apparently isn't great. Plus, Jack is a pain to get going.
