Universally considered the "worst" STALKER game out of the three, it is not necessarily a bad game. In short, if you like any other STALKER game you should give this a playthrough.
This game lacks the bleakness and some of the atmosphere found mainly in Shadow of Chernobyl but also Call of Pripyat. The Zone is very populated by NPCs compared to other STALKER games which very much contributes to the fact that the environment feels less hostile. Compared to the 4 horror centric underground areas of SHoC, Clear Sky only has one that is less frightening compared to the SHoC counterparts. Compared to unmodded SHoC, Clear Sky is in many ways a bit more polished in terms of better animation quality, graphical effects and user interface. Clear Sky also introduces a much welcomed weapon upgrade/repair system that was absent from SHoC.
While I generally think that the first time you play a STALKER game it should be unmodded I would say that I make an exception for Clear Sky. Clear Sky unmodded has some issues that are flat out annoying and I would consider it bare minimum to install the Sky Reclamation Project (latest version as of 2015-06-30 is 1.0.4) to fix most of those issues. SRP is still pretty close to a vanilla experience and is provided mainly to fix various bugs.
I would also like to mention the following mods that doesn't impact gameplay but makes it look a bit better.
Atmosfear 1.3 - Improves weather effects, improves game atmosphere (This is also available for Call of Pripyat)
Absolute Nature/Textures - High resolution texture mods that makes things look a bit more crisp (This is also available for Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat)
