I'm not the biggest fan of stealth games, even though I have played all the Bioshocks, Mass Effect, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Mirror's Edge, you get the idea. I play them, but usually in those games ammo is abundant and stealth is just a way to get into the best position for an advantage in a difficult fight.
Not so much in Dishonored, a tale of betrayal and revenge, where you, Corvo, have to rescue the rightful heir to the throne after being falsely accused of assassinating her mother the queen.
From there, you have to sneak around the city, avoiding rats like, well, the plague, and silencing guards and key members of this new, corrupt government. The less effective you are at stealth, the more dead bodies pile up, and the plague spreads even faster.
Trivia: The makers of the original Theif worked on Dishonored, and not the Theif reboot. Dishonored is widely considered the better of the two games.
So in the end, will you save the city and the royal heir, or ultimately make the city collapse to the plague?
Definitely some openness to the gameplay as you figure out whether to go over, under, or around certain areas
Collectibles and interesting powerups
Voice acting and visual style are all top-notch
Difficulty can be a little punishing if you're focusing on non-lethal methods
Sometimes it just gets tedious, which is why I haven't sat all the way through it
On my computer it crashes frequently, the other half reason I haven't completed it
8/10 - Good game for all you Thief and Deus Ex fans, lots of stealth, variety of enemies, hopefully you can enjoy it without it crashing. (Save regularly)
