Dishonored Installation Problems
I purchased the Bethesda Collection today for 90$, mostly because I wanted to play Dishonored and the other games that came with it looked to be worth the extra money. However, when I attempted to download Dishonored, Steam did not present disk space or estimated download time. I pressed download, and it was completed instantly. This is because I appear to have only downloaded one file, installscript.vdf. The button in the Steam Library that said "Install" now says "Play", but when I press it, User Account Control asks if I will allow Steam Client Services to make changes to the computer. Say yes, and it attempts to download five files as part of "first time setup", then I receive an error: Failed to start game (missing executable). Selecting "No" for SCS brings me directly to the error message.

I have been searching for an answer for a while now, but the specific problem does not appear to have been seen. I do not want to torrent anything except as an absolute last resort.

Please comment with any suggestions.

Same issue here. I suspect it's the downloadable installation files that have not been updated to work with the steam sale. I am sure it will be fixed soon

Me too. I can't install Dishonored so I'm installing Skyrim in the meantime.

Lots of people with this issue. If anyone find a fix or get a response from Valve, please let us all know.

Well there goes my plan for tonight. Dishonored is the only game in the Bethesda bundle I haven't played. I do love the others in this package, but I do feel like I just spent $90 on a game I can't even play. Come on steam, this AND Doom 3 BFG Edition aren't downloading now. I think a $10 refund on the bundle is appropriate.

Or better yet, a fix.

well this sucks bad...we should get a refund for having to deal with this problem cause on the store page it says 9 GB but it only downloads 1.1 GB...so where did the rest of it go to??

I think it would not be unreasonable if we could download Dishonored the regular way--not as part of a bundle--for free, since we already paid for the privilege of downloading and playing Dishonored and have not recieved what we paid for.

Hell I bought the game by itself on sale and then crashes right away, decided to look at the size it installed and the folder size. 5.5gb and 6.1gb. Ya what the hell? Fix your dam crap Steam.

Decided to reinstall, now it's only doing 5.3. WTF!!

I'm having this same issue but would rather not download a pirate copy to bypass my legal copy.
