Is it worth the time?
I played SoC and i absolutely loved it but CS is giving me lots of bad first impression and i read that this game has a reputation of being kinda bad.
So my question is; Does CS pick up the pace after the first few hours or should i go straight to CoP?

May I ask what it is exactly that turns you off from CS? The reason I ask is because CoP actually takes more of it's que's from CS than SoC. So if you don't like the direction CS took the series in then there's a chance that CoP might not be your thing either.

I personally like all 3 alot, but CS is the only game in the series that I would say requires modding to make it good, and by modding I just mean a community made patch that keeps the game the way it was intended, it just fixes the whole thing and stops the AI from throwing grenades around like they're going out of fashion.

So far i don't like the swamp, the long ass introduction to faction wars and the way the game started tutorializing the crap out of me ( also how sometimes i get sniped by bandits out of nowhere) .Like i said it's just bad first impressions , SoC also had a rough start but it wasn't handholding me this much.

Right im with you.

In that case,

You won't like the vannilla game because the AI gets more frustraiting as you progress, but you probably will like the game with Sky Reclaimation Project installed. This would require a restart though.

Once you leave the Great Swamp area, the game effectively turns into Shadow of Chernobyl 2.0 it's just held back by the bugs and cheap AI (which mods fix), at that point and the Faction war takes a back seat unless you want to take part in it but it's not forced upon you at all.

Guess i'll give it another try then.
Gotta get them mods first thought.

I just want to mirror this^

And being in the Swamps still, a restart wouldn't be too bad.

The first time you play vanilla CS, it is really slow starting to get some decent weapons. The shotgun is pretty terrible for anything but shooting mutants as they close to mele distance. Leave the swamps and you will get better stuff. It also helps when you start finding goodies to give the technicians so you can improve weapons and armor.

It’s worth one play through. I would play the others more than once though. Weakest one of the three.

Wait a minute .. i thought the Factions War is the whole thing in Clear Sky. So you can stay neutral till the end of the game? (i just finished SoC and considering CS or CoP)

You are permenantly alligned to the Clear Sky faction but once you leave the swamps you do not have to interact with them or their war ever again till the final stretch of the game.

But outside of Clear Sky you do not need to join another faction. You can stay neutral to everyone if you desire (except the scripted sequences and millitary).
