What does it take to get a perfect?
Just wondering what you have to do to get a perfect on each level. Just not get hit, or do you need to kill every enemy and get every powerup that drops?

I believe you have to not get hit and pick up everything.

Pick up everything? Ouch. Those enemies coming from behind, you kill them accidentially too early and can't reach the pickups.

Is it possible to do it on easy difficulty?

Weird. I did the first level on easy and twice on normal. Killed everything, collected everything and havn't been hit. No achievement.

Don't tell me you have to do it on hard?

Edit: To me it worked on hard. I don't understand it because I saw people doing perfect that level and had a score of 940M (just as I have on normal). On hard I was under 800M.

Edit2: Seems that I found a bug, the game didn't save my score on hard difficulty. Just guessing: Maybe because my score on normal is higher?

Edit3: I just discovered that on the Leaderboards there are no entries at all for hard difficulty. (Seems on the leaderboards it is called "Perfect" instead of "Hard"). So I guess the game doesn't save any score on hard difficulty.

As far as I can see in the code, the 'perfect' achievement is not dependent on the difficulty level, so you should be able to do it on easy.

Good catch on saving a high score in hard difficulty. I renamed the 'perfect' leaderboards to 'hard', so it should work now.

Thank you for the clarification, seems that I missed something then.

I replayed the first level to check. I can confirm that the scores on hard difficulty are saved now. The Steam leaderboards work too now. I am the one and only at the moment, hahaha.

Thanks for the quick fix. Not many games have such a quick service.

Dang, my score was pretty much the same this run, but no perfect this time. Missed again something.

Heh, no problem; this was an easy fix since it was just a Steam developer portal setting as opposed to changing code and creating/uploading a whole new build. Yeah, I figured that once I enabled it, a few lucky ones who noticed will realize they are the only high-scorers. :) Given that's been that way for a couple years or so, I'm quite surprised noone (even us) noticed sooner.

As for the perfect, it's still possible there is a bug, but I checked the location of the unlocking code, and it's the same spot no matter which skill level you are on, so unlocking for one skill level should be equal to unlocking for another.. but maybe there's another more subtle bug I am not aware of. If I get officially back on the Steam BIT.TRIP stuff, I can spend more time seeing if there is some bug deeper in the code for unlocking this on non-hard difficulties.

I was testing again. Yes you can get perfection on easy.

I am quite sure that I did several times a perfect run on Patience (Level 2, on hard) and didn't get it accounted.

My random guess now is that pausing the game or restarting the level might cause the issue. Now I've got the achievement for Patience, but I got used to always quit the level and restarted it from the main menu if I did a mistake. Might be coincidence. It is really hard to go through 8 minutes all the time just to check if I am right. Man I even started to record my games to look if I missed something.

Hah, wow, that's something to note, about restarting vs. quitting.. I would hope the original Wii code accounted for restarting should also do a reset on the 'perfect' status (it always starts out as 'true' and only gets set to 'false' on a miss), but it's something for me to look into if/when I am more officially back on the project.

Using the beta patch, I got grabbed everything and didn't get hit on level one on easy mode and it's pretty easy, and it got unlocked.

In layman's terms: yes you can unlock the achievement on easy difficutly.
