after installing and starting the game, I discoverd I could only look at the senery in parker and the bottom half of his duster (jacet) keept going crazy and disappearing. I don't want to admit I wasted $20 but I may have too. Maybe deleting and re-downloading it will fix it. (Fingers crossed).

Try disabling Direct3D 10:
Library -> right click on Red Faction: Guerrilla -> Properties -> SET LAUNCH OPTIONS... and paste "-nod3d10" (without quotes).

Garbage? It was released in 2009. Those problems are caused by recently released Internet Explorer 10, in most cases.
The game is not garbage.

I had the flickering textures and just played through it for 20 hours, its not horrible but sometimes it acts up and you have to restart. I just recently did the -direct10 fix, which works without much graphical loss, thank you. Makes driving much easier, although some cars just hate to be driven and have to crash.

This game gives Just Cause 2 a run for its money for best sandbox game ever made. This game's destruction is the wackiest fun you can have in games - with jetpacks and mechs!
I've truly enjoyed this even if its considered old or outdated. Geomod 2 + havok engine = zany AI and destructible wackiness.

Try this for fun = when you run into zeke at a safehouse, batter him to no end, he cannot die, but his physics still works and so do his funny one liners. You can 7 mine blast him to oblivion and he still gets up and walks back... LOL!
