Star Wars Mod Steam Install

I was hunting around for mods for rebellion and found this http://www.moddb.com/mods/sins-of-a-galactic-empire. However it does not mention anything about steam or installation instructions which I presume are in the readme. Considering some mods need you to make a few extra tweaks before they work on steam, I'm a little bit reluctant to download. Does anyone know if it works fine with the Steam version (I'm presuming it has an installer?) and if not what I would have to do, to get the mod working, because I must bombard a planet with a Star Destroyer :} thanks.

Rebellion is a steamworks game so any mod for Rebellion will work with steam (there is no "non-steam" version). That said Sins mods generally do not have installers because all you need to do is extract a downloaded file to your "mod folder" (you can see where this is from the "Show Mod Path" button in the mods tab of the main menu). SoGE is a bit more complicated because you can choose what races you want in the game by enabling or disabling parts of it, but all you need to do to make sure it works is to have the "Core" at the bottom of the stack of mods.

Ah seems I had a stupidity leak didn't know it was steamworks. I've installed mods where I've needed to extract the file directly before shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the help :}

You should note that mods designed for predecessor games may not function with Rebellion.

not all mods will not work with "Core" in them for steams ver of reb f.........i got to many mini dumbs.

Again, Rebellion is only on steam. Any problems you have is not because of the "Steam Version", that is the only version that exists. There is specific instructions for installing the mod and you may get mini-dumps if you put the mods in the wrong order. If you're getting minidumps in game, you're probably hitting the "Ram Limit" or in SoGE's case I know some features like flagship victory are not implemented and will crash the game.

Rebellion is not only Steamworks, you can buy it off Stardock and play easily without Steam.

This is not correct. While this is true for Trinity, Rebellion is only available through steam. Whether you buy it through Stardock or Gamestop doesn't matter, you'll have to launch it through steam in the end.
