Babel Rising

Babel Rising

Statistieken weergeven:
This is a game meant for mobile devices and is actually $0.99. Watch what you buy.
Babel Rising is a fantastic game for mobiles and tablets, but it's definitely not for the core PC crowd. It's a casual games that's played better on-the-go rather than at a desk or on the couch. It's not a "bad" game, but you should know what you're getting when you pay for it.

I will also say that the price for this game on Steam is egregious, because it's $0.99 on the Android and iOS app stores. So that's a major reason why this version should be avoided at a 1000% markup.

The more you know!

Thanks for the tip, almost bought this.
I just want to add that I find it terrible, even if it is meant for tablets. Its extremely repetitive and simple not fun. It is not a God game by any means.

Thank you, that's just what I thought. Many games on steam lately would sell better on mobile phones. The price (50% discount) is 4,99€ on Steam, that's fool.
wow.. thanks for that... :D

guess i'll go download it on my android tablet instead...
Yeah, I think it's a fun game, really. It's like that old Lemmings game with a twist. You're basically destroying instead of saving them. I actually had a lot of fun with the game since it's really only meant for short 5-10 minutes of play while on a commute or on the john. It was my go-to game for a while. So yeah, I recommend it, just not on Steam and not for that price.
FUN FACT about the mobile version is it has microtransactions! So even tho you're paying more than the mobile app you don't have to feel like you've wasted time because you get to a point where you are giving up more money for the rest of the game (or a boost). I'm not a fan of microtransactions or F2P so maybe it's just me. But if I get a game I don't want to feel like it was designed with the intent to be Pay-2-Win. Not to mention the game looks and runs better on a PC. Tho that's a different topic.
That's certainly a valid argument. I never factored in the microtransactions (MT), but I always thought they were more of a boost, like you said. Whenever I played the game, I never thought MTs were all that necessary, so I didn't think about them.

Either way, I stand by the fact that $10 is still a bit much for a game like this. $5 is a nice sweet-spot I think. I wouldn't expect Ubi to sell their game for $0.99 on Steam. I also don't think the mechanics and system work well for extended play sessions. Those aspects are much more tailored to on-the-go and tactile control schemes. These "touch" controlled games just don't work very well with a mouse, but that's just me.

I'm not looking down on those who bought or enjoy this game. I just thought it would be best for people to know what they're buying since consumer resources may be a bit scarce as far as this game goes.
Thanks for the heads up..
