nostalgia at its finest!
This game has made me go back down memory lane. I keep laughing my ♥♥♥ off every new level i enter. My feelings are that the 8-bit gaming world is far from over.

Yes i totally agree with you, i was a C64 programmer back in the 80's so you can see why i like this so much, 8 bit isn't over as you only have to look at how many 8 bit remakes are currently being made on the consoles and PC, this is classic gaming at it's best.

Yeah was a pleasure being involved in that era of gaming, computers had to have minor interfaces back then because of memory limitations, some games that i have worked on over the years on various systems are: Annihilator "extremely rare game", Operation Thunderbolt, Classic Invader, Birds Of Prey, Double Dragon, North & South, Rambo 3, Unreal, Xevious, Scramble and a few more.

Which Unreal, this one?
http://store.steampowered.com/app/13250/

I know it may be a dumb question, but there are a few games that share that title, along with the demo by Future Crew. Very cool if you did, and still cool even if not.

Unreal is up there tied with Half-Life in my book, funny to think they were released only a few months apart, and those titles are the inception of what Valve and Epic Games have built from those. (Well, Epic MegaGames goes back much further, but take a look at Jill of the Jungle sometime to see how far they've come. But I digress.) Unreal had a great soundtrack for sure, I still listen to some tracks.

So, on-topic, I feel that some of RCR's humor is a bit forced, a little too much rib-elbowing and eye-winking in the introduction, but it gets better later. The Super Stomp Bros. sequence in the prison is exactly the kind of commentary I want in these type comedy/parody/spoof/homage games.

Being able to select authentic color palettes is exactly what this game needed for its retro cred, when I saw EGA I was in love, when I saw CGA I laughed.

Ha Unreal that i worked on was a number of years before the epic games title, mine was from 1989- 1990. I feel that the humour in RCR is perfectly aimed at gamers who never used any 8 bit's but gives them a feel of what it's like and yes slightly over the top but generally it does it rather well and yes it was great to have some of the graphics filters in there and was a nice touch, i've always laughed at CGA mode if truth be told.
