Is it better to play this game with a controller or the keyboard?

The title says it all. I am having trouble configuring the game to play with a controller, so I was wondering if it is fine to play this game with a keyboard.

I've had no problems with 360ce and other games, but this game for some reason does not want to use the right thumbstick for 360 degree firing properly, so I've opted to use the keyboard instead.

I would argue it's more fun on a controller, but it isn't all that bad to play on the keyboard, just make sure you know your key bindings and maybe rebind them to be more comfortable. I find the default controls for keyboard to be odd.

I'm personally using a Logitech F310 controller just fine. Has the XInput of 360 controllers, but has the button layout and form of a PS2/PS3 controller.

try x360ce, it's a little tool that makes games think your controller is a normal xbox controller, really easy to set up and since i started using it i never again had a problem with any game again... just set it up once and afterwards copy the files to the games you want it to work with. :) really worth it..

Did you manage to get the second stick working properly for 360 degree firing? for me moving the stick up attacks in the direction your character is facing, but that's it. No amount of changing options remedied this. I've had no problems with other games and 360ce.

Personally it is better to play with the controller because the keyboard controlls are all over what part of it are u having trouble with i use logitech which works fine for me try one of those

I think keyboard and mouse are great :D Granted, some of the control tutorials give a button to say, enter a car and there will actually be two buttons to do so. They tell you that to get in a car, you have to hit enter, but you can also hit E. Also, with the mouse you have more options on which direction to shoot. With the controller you only get 8 directions to shoot
