Wow, what a joke. Imagine Dragon Age, now take away EVERYTHING that's fun, well done, or adds to the excitement - and you will get Confrontation.

Confrontation is the only game that I have played so far (other than Game of Thrones Genesis) that I actually stopped playing after a few hours of gameplay. Yes, it's that bad. This is the most generic strategy RPG I have ever played, and that's saying a lot.

Everything from the horrible story, to the incredibly bad voice acting, to the terrible AI and pathing - all point to a sloppy and rushed game. Combat is incredibly simple, and the character development is extremely shallow and linear (as is the level design). Check out this YouTube review if I still haven't convinced you to avoid this game like the plague.

And I won't even mention the lame DRM (5 machine activation limit)

Because I was also interested but after looking at this I dont think I will be getting it, even if it is only 10$ at the moment.

Thanks for saving me the money. It was $10 and I was close to buying it.

Thanks for the heads up with this. They should make a demo available for the game. Otherwise someone might buy it with high expectations

Thank you as well, I have only heard bad things unfortunately as well. It's a real shame, the art style and mood I've seen.

this is so sad, especially when we saw the quality of the board game and its figures;
Linkk Oct 14, 2012 @ 10:02am
Damned I should have seen this thread before I bought it -.-" I can confirm that this game is Dragon Age without everything that is fun :-/

Having spent the 9.99 (and actually having owned many of the phsyical armies from the original table top game)

This 'interpretation' of confrontation is awful.

The army choices originally available for the table top included Wolfen (In game) and their brethren who fell from grace the Devourers. Orcs (in game) as well as a goblin army and daikinee elves. There was also a race of snake like creatures, undead, possessed dwarves, good dwarves, the griffons (in game), the lions (another human army) the scorpions (in game).

But the lack of presence from the other armies, as well as the lack of any form of update since launch isn't the only issue.

Actual game play is crap. There are so many programming bugs that gamers and developers alike know shouldn't exist. Things like pathing, continuing to attack an enemy after a spell.

Graphically, there was a review I read and have restated its summary time and time again for this game. "Graphics would have been good 8 years ago"

Save your 9.99 and put it towards something else.

Cyanide is a pretty bland developer. Everything they make is pretty "meh", not terrible but always forgetable. Blood Bowl was the only thing they ever did right (for the most part) and that's probably because they hardly had to design anything at all apart from the realtime mode--which is trash--since the turnbased mechanics are identical to the boardgame.
