Has anybody implemented a way to get this game to work on LAN?
I'm interested in the game but I'm not paying for something I can't play with my friends. I know that local Co-op works but trying to get four people to huddle around a computer desk is even worse than getting them on a couch around the Xbox. From what I've read normal multiplayer is a huge PITA to get to work properly and has connection issues, and apparently you can't even search for specific games so good luck finding friends? Hopefully the multiplayer problems are exaggerated and this will work, the game looks fun, but I'm not planning to get this for the single player experience.

unfortunatly not :/ u can invite people to your game lobby who are on the same network as you but it can be buggy. when i tried playing with my bro we were in the same room on diffrent couches and the game was to laggy to play. it kept saying 'waiting for players'. however when we tried a few hours later it went 100% smoothly without a single hitch. this game is unpredictable as hell with internet.

normal online can be a bit of a pickle. if one person has a bad connection 2 another it disrupts the entire game and puts u into a 'waiting for players' screen for a long time until it kicks u or solves itself (only to happen again later). but if u all have good connecton to one another than it should be fine.

You Can search for players by just going to Custom Game intead of host or randomly join
All you search for is Friends Only!

Sounds like a bit of a pain. I may just wait for a sale then, shelling out the money for four copies for a buggy game doesn't sound very appealing, especially at full price.
