Awesomenauts has a lot of issues.
It's peer to peer as opposed to server based, meaning that you'll sometimes have some guy on the enemy team teleporting around or attacking you from spots he shouldnt be able to.
The region based matchmaking only makes you look for other players in your region, if a player from another region has it disabled he can join your game regardless of your setting.
There are not enough numbers, say your ability does 500 damage, how much hp does that one enemy have?
I 'unno, about 50%. But there's no way of knowing how much hp he has exactly. Its manageable after you've played the game for a bit and you get a feel for it, but it can be frustrating.
In comparison to it's competition it has a shallow pool of characters. 21 characters (+1 new one coming soon) is little in comparison to League, Dota or even Smite, it's comparable to Heroes of the Storm's pool but they release new characters faster than Awesomenauts do.
Despite this i absolutely recommend awesomenauts. Out of all the Moba (or Dotalike, whatever) i've played Nauts might the most fun game in the genre.
It's a much less stressfull game than League or Dota, games are generally over quicker so they feel way less intense than their contemporaries.
The movement feels great, Ronimo has done a great job of making each Naut move differently. Wether you're playing Vinnie and you're floating over everyone while kiting them with your shots before dashing in for the kill or you're Penny manouvering around, dodging and weaving, looking for an opening to dash in and unload on someone. You allways feel like you're in controll, it's tight and responsive.
Unless you're playing Yuri, in which case i feel bad for you son.
Speaking of the characters, they are all vibrant, lifefull and distinct. One of my least favorite things about Dota is how same-y a lot of characters in that game is.
The playerbase is not much in comparison to League/Dota/Smite but it's enough to find games, it starts to take a bit of time at nighttime but it's completely manageable in my opinion.
And well, as I said the game is just straight up fun. I'd absolutely reccomend you give it a try, and hey, with steam refunds you can allways just give it a quick try and return it if you're not a fan.
