Well the DLC pack is money thrown away. But the game is very very good yes.

You buy the DLC pack to support Ronimo since they give you free updates of new Awesomenauts to play as and new maps to play on. It's the same as any other cosmetic items in any other game, except these are reasonably priced at $1.67 per costume in the Costume Bundle, where as other cosmetic items in games like TF2, DotA2, LoL, et cetera are anywhere from $5 to $25.

It isn't a waste to buy them at all, they're all hand drawn with many charming effects that shows they were made with affection. I wear them with pride in supporting Ronimo for a top notch game.
