Anyone thinking of getting this, don't; The lag is getting more insane.
First off, I love the game. Besides major balencing issues, it's an increadibly fun game to play or screw around in. The funny moments that can come from a chase where everyones just running around in circles is totally worth it.

What isn't worth it is the crazy lag that Ronimo thinks is okay, especially for a MOBA. Typically, a game will have everyone's ping up around 200+, 9 out of 10 games, and around 300 4 out of those 10. For those of you that don't check pings, since most games actually attempt to handle it, 200 is when you start getting server lag, minor stuff, stuttering FPS, awkward hit confirms, that stuff. 300 is when everyone is warpping around the map, and getting random hits and kills. We have had somewhere around five, maybe six patches since I bought the game, and if anything, the lags gotten worse. The devs seem more interested in putting out new characters, which unbalence the game further, and skins, than fix the obvious lag issue. And before you fanboys out there start attacking me-- when the ping meter his 999 ever few seconds, that means that someone's ping has gone -passed- the maximum it can track, and you can't say that's reasonable.

The major issue is some brilliant idiot thought it'd be a good idea to put in a 'worldwide' and 'half way around the world' option in the matchmaking options, which overrules the more sensible 'local/region only' settings. That is to say, if I try and join a match local only with my buddy, someone on the otherside of the planet can just go 'lol, think I'll troll today -sets matchmaking to world-', and now everyone's stuck with absurd lag. If they'd just remove those options, or better yet, do what most FPS and other multiplay games do, and set a ping limit to kick someone with silly high ping, then the game would work smoothly. Until then, I have to say this is a broken game, don't buy it until they fix it.

Haha, I love this. I agree, but it doesn't hurt to get it considering the price tag currently.

^yeah pretty much even if there are lag issues there are still good games you can get out of it and a great amount of fun for what like 3 bucks? Not to mention its also a beautiful and unique game!

Yes there will be lag if you play worldwide. But is not any worse than playing a street fighter online with p2p. Local the problem is not huge, deticated servers would be nice but I just don't see it happening very soon. But even with all that why would you miss out on such an awesome game just because of a little lag issue... Also I see a lot of people complaining about lag when it's just there reaction time and mechanic knowledge failing. It's kinda easy to spot if someone lags a little and a lot of people are lying about it to make themselves feel better sadly.

100 wins under my belt, and I think I had a total of 3 people "warping" around, and no other lag issues..

Agreed. The coders apparently blow♥♥♥♥♥at network code, and for the first time in years I've experienced the "oh hey, I'm lagging, so therefore I win" crap.

Yeah, then most of you above must have incredible luck, considering me and most my guild mates get minor lag most of the time, and major lag half of the games we play. If it was just me, I'd shut up and not even post, but five, seven, ten people?....It's a great game, there's not disputing that, and I love it. The problem is the net code seems to actually be getting worse, and Ronimo either is incappible of fixing the issue, or just out and out doesn't care. The reason I say don't get it, is that's really the only sure-proof way for them to sit up and take notice.

If it's on sale, like now, yeah, get it, don't waste your money on when the price goes back up. But I do need to bring up one point-- How do you justify chain disconnects, on both sides of the fight, due to extream ping, as 'normal'?

I've been playing for about 3 or 4 days now. I haven't had any lag. Could it be your computer? You got a really good one or could it use some improvements?

I got a high end computer, for gaming and 3D production, and I have the highest possable connection for when I have to host or stream. Maybe it's me, but then it's me and a handful of other people as well.

It's not as if -every- game has lag, but most do. And most people don't notice it because it's increadibly small at first. The major thing you'll notice with lag in this game is that when two mobs [creeps, players] get close to eachother, and one is moving, they will eitehr get push or pulled across the screen. Another is multipulied or mutual damage/kills; That's the game's 'lag compensation' in effect. It has code in it that' resolves' hits based on unequal latency. like if both characters use melee, they can kill eachother, or hits that were [well] out of range still damaging. [E.G Getting behind a tower and still dying to a ranged basic attack from the other side].

This is another one of my pevees when it comes to this game; They don't try to fix the actual problem, just put a bandaide on it, that makes it worse...It's a real shame too, since this is a great game, and they're kinda doing damage to it.
i agree lag is terrible in this game when it occurs thankfully ive been lucky and it doesnt happen much as theplayers matchmaking puts me with generally have decent to good connection
