Makes me soooo mad! So irritating. Also lame having to go and mute them. I wish you could choose in the game options to just not hear that bs. Think this could happen?

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but all you do is press TAB and click on the boxes next to their name right? This takes all of 2.5 seconds? You can easily do this as your drop pod is getting ready to launch at the beginning of a game, or during a death sequence.

Yes, you are correct. That is how you do it. If I do it when the pod is launching I will miss out on drop pod solar. It sure would be nice if people weren't ****s about it, though. Thats all i'm saying. I'm sure I can't be the only person that would appreciate the option to turn taunting off.

Much like TF2, taunting is part of the game. We've all dealt with the frustrating players who have managed to grow a sixth finger dedicated to pressing '1', but this is the easiest solution presented. Also, death drop pods should give you enough time to tab and click on 1 - 3 check boxes, this I'm sure of.

One drawback I see there is: you wont be able to see anything he writes either. It would be nice to have two mute check boxes; one for taunt and one for chat, because sometimes I wanna mute someones tauts but _not_ someones chat. Well first world problems I guess ;-)

I agree, actually. Taunting adds nothing, an ability to turn it off with out having to do it manually would be a boon to the game. Now if there was an SF3 taunt system, that'd be different and awesome. But it's just a way to give obnoxious people an outlet to be rude and make that one kill so much more meaningful to them when they go 1/11.

I think it is entirely pointless and just serves to make a game that can get infuriating even more annoying.

No other game that I know of incorporates taunts like this.

Taunting needs to have a cost. Understandably making taunt animations takes time. However, why not make them stand still for 2 secs while taunting?

Or even easier, remove the popup text. Currently I can see no case for taunting nor that it is indicative of this game. If someone wants to give a case for why annoying its players is a good thing then go for it :)

Thankfully, once you get past league 4 no-one really uses it (in which case it is a redundant feature) so it is only when you get the odd child that binds the taunt button to left click do you notice it.

Hey, I think I just played a game with you, weren't you the guy complaining about how you thought some of the people on my team needed to be in higher leagues? Anyway... taunting doesn't bother me really, I usually just ignore it, half the time people do it it's at a time that doesn't even warrant it, other times it is preceded by something taunt worthy, in which case I think to myself "Ok, I'll give you that one". Maybe other people just aren't as mello as me, oh well, as long as the aren't complete tools I'm ok with it.

I actually like taunting, it is often a nice way to poke a humorous jab at a rather amusingly event, like when you dodge an entire enemy team for a whole minute without taking that 1 hit that should kill you, or when you block a max-damage evil eye by just placing a weedling at the last second; it seems fun to know the enemy also acknowledged this rather funny occurance.

The taunt quotes are rather nice to hear as well, definitely enough characters to stop them becoming stale too quickly.

Maybe I'm just not affected by the idea the enemy is "taunting" me (I am generally rather difficult to annoy), and so I don't see the annoyance of it, but I don't mind them at all.

Don't get me wrong, I like taunting as well, but sometimes (rarely) there are people that just taunt every other second and than it gets annoying. That being said, it sometimes helps just to ask the other team to please stop excessive taunting.
