Penny's Amplify Damage
This is horrible, the amount of times i've had to go against Penny with a Sentry, once you're caught in the black hole and can't move, you're a nice easy target for Penny to whip out the amp, maybe the same with clunk. I'd rather have it if amplify damage only applies for penny to use or greatly decrease it, because it's too much =/

It's pretty potent, but it's probably one of the few advantages Penny has over the more widely used Froggy G.

Once you're caught in Sentry's black hole, Swiggin's anchor, or anything that impede your movement, you're an easy target. And pretty much done for if the ennemies are grouped.

As for amplify, It's not a Penny problem, you'd say the same about Gnaw's goo if it was more used...

Gnaw's amplify is very little though

Gnaw can amplify up to 20%, same as Penny's base amp. She can get it up to 30% with upgrades.

Either way, the amplify takes up slots and requires purchase, Penny already has 20% max to start with

I fail to see how your title fits your description. The title is about penny but then it goes more about Sentrys black hole. With that logic, any naut would have a freebie.

Penny's pulse "max base amplify" is indeed 20% however thats dependent on how many charges she has. 1 charge is not 20% its 5% per charge without upgrades. If you got hit like that, that was a team play and not an issue, but rather you was just a bit salty and need to blow off some steam understandably.

The points are valid, doesn't matter the title.

As someone that plays Froggy, I often find myself wondering why I don't just play Penny. Before a Penny White Knight comes to defend her, I must say she seems a hell of a lot easier to play. Her burst doesn't even depend on body blocking ffs.

Not that I think the core reason is her damage amp. I just think the "goodies" upgrades are stupid to have each character have different choices.

I'm just talking about how amplify damage and the pulse ends up making the black hole an insta kill moment =/ as for the charges, penny can always store the charges and save for the 'premade' moment

The ironic thing is higher players say the opposite. Currently, froggy is far superior to penny. She use to be a supreme stomper but now, after the supreme hammer that is nerfs, froggy outshines penny in sheer ability. Theres always the other factor of player skill though.

Yes I concur, Penny used to be froggy 2.0, now it is quite the opposite. The thing is once penny has used her charges she is basically useless.

Sorry that I'm not L1/L2 for a Froggy player, but all except 2 games were from my knowledge of Penny before these so called nerfs.

To continue to press the mater - I only suggested that her damage for how hard she is to play is the issue. Not that she herself is OP like the many threads I've cared to lurk way back. Guess you can pick apart this next post because most Nauts are about Q AA E AA, kite back, ect.

Thats...the point of a tank dude. To soak damage. High HP.

Compared to Froggy, Penny is quite a bit harder to play. She no longer has invicibility, her pounce is now single target (unless they're literally on top of each other), her Pulse damage/amp was reduced significantly, her HP was reduced, her silence costs more now (for some odd reason they added that.) and stun on pounce also got reduced. I feel like i'm missing more but basically - a Penny ABSOLUTELY HAS TO COMMIT when they take a course of action.

Froggy still has pretty high burst, his invicibility is intact, he has range on AA automatically (opposed to penny having to buy it and use a slot), can completely tank a turret, can stun multiple targets, and can pretty much get in/get out without a second thought.

Penny use to be like that, however is now almost a complete 180 to it. A penny has to plan ahead more, her abilities are now heavily geared to supporting a teammate or chasing down a low HP naut, and absolutely cannot escape from a corner in a 2v1 situation like froggy can.

You see where i'm going with this i'm sure. Froggys utility makes him much more easier to manage.

Edit: However, i'm not saying penny is a bad naut. Shes still really good in the right hands, and is a must have in team situations.

I play Penny a helluva lot, considering my name and all.
I've also fought against many Froggys.

Presuming the Penny player knows what they're doing: the only real advantage Froggy seems to have over Penny is invincibility on his dash.
Nothing else he does seems, to me, to be any better than what Penny can do.

A careful, tactical Penny has just as much firepower and evasiveness as Froggy.
She still is Froggy 2.0, but now practice for a high skill ceiling is required.

Penny also feels more 'flexible' in terms of tactical options available, compared to Froggy, so if you learn her well enough, there are more possibilities for survival and for attacks.

In playstyle, she is kinda like Leon too, but that's due to being an assassin.
