At higher levels of skill, balance tends to be more even.
In general, I'd say it's only P2W insofar as the base game costs money, which of course it does. That is to say, it's not really P2W.

I give it a 3 on a scale to 10, where 1 equals not P2W, and where 10 equals 100% P2W (Like some "Free" to play games).
You indeed dont NEED to have those 8 nauts, BUT they will increase your playstyle a lot, since some are needed to counter specific nauts/builds.
And please for the love of Zork, stop calling everyone salty that doesn't agree with your opinion.
Feedback
Instead of locking nauts behind a paywall, make only DLCs with maps and newer gamemodes.

This game has a lot of competitive but only the top players take part cus it takes effort to find and get in to it.
