[Solved] my game has glitched
So i just started playing and got to level 1-3 (The Menace) and it shows me the ball then the door and stops there. The music keeps playing but i cannot move the level, my character hasn't even been drawn in yet.

I have un-installed it and re-installed and tried reseting my saved progress, any ideas.
id realy like to start playing this game :)..

e/ I had a look on the discusions also and could only find this hapening to one other person. I couldn't see if they fixed it or not.

Do you have all of your graphics card drivers up-to-date, along with all Windows Updates?

just updated windows 7 and my graphics drivers and still not working..

I see. Just to make sure everything is clean, please restart you computer after the updates and try again.

* If that doesn't fix the problem, try installing these:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20914
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24872
Then restart your computer and see if that helps.
* If that doesn't fix the problem, do you have antivirus programs running? It's possible that these are causing the issue and should be disabled while you play the game.

i downloaded the first link and the other said i had a better one installed and wouldnt let me install the second one. i reset after installing those. my antivirus is off aswell and i dont think it would be that, as 1-1 and 1-2 worked fine. its still not working :s.

I'm sorry to hear that. Have you tried running as administrator? If you right-click on TheBridge.exe (usually located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\TheBridge\The Bridge.exe") and select "Run as administrator", does this help?

ran as admin and still nothing, even tried compatability.. still not working

Darn. Here are a few more things to try:

  • Try manually updating DirectX on your computer. See the DirectX Installation Instructions[support.microsoft.com]
  • If you use D3DOverrider, try disabling it.
  • If you're on Windows 7, make sure you have Service Pack 1 installed. Windows Update should handle this for you, but in rare situations it fails. Double-check this or try updating it manually.

Also, how much RAM does your computer have, and does it have a dedicated graphics card?

I believe this obscure issue is related to the original XNA version of the game in combination with something else running on your computer. We happen to have a Unity version as well, which will likely allow you to continue past this point.

Right-click on The Bridge in your Steam Library, then select Properties. Click the Betas tab, and in the text box, type TheBridgeUnity, then click Check Code. You should then have an option in the drop-down list above the text box for "unity - The Bridge Windows Unity build". Select that, then click Close. The game will automatically update with the Unity build instead of the XNA build, and you should be able to use this to continue past the part of the game where you are stuck.
