Workaround to Max Payne 3/Rockstar Social Club Issues
Ok, so after some messing about, I found a workaround to the Rockstar Social Club issues of the last couple of days (at least for those of us who have completed the initial registration process). It's actually quite simple, I just put Steam in offline mode and relaunched MP3, suddenly I am logged in and single player is working. Hope this helps some others. Still it's an unacceptable annoyance for a single player game.

I will mention that the first time I did this, I also disabled my network card, then put Steam in offline mode, then tried it and it worked. I then reenabled my network card and tried again with steam still in offline mode, it still worked. Maybe disabling the network card the first time is required. I just assumed it wasn't after I didn't need to the 2nd time. Anyway, I've been playing all day. this way.

I've found that uninstalling and reinstalling The Social Club completely helps to launch the game now.
