Obviously I was forced to make this social club account when I bought the game a couple of months ago - the account was linked to Steam and the game worked as it was supposed to.
Now all I get is 'Error linking your Social Club account to Steam'. The game does not even launch. I logged on to this wretched misbegotten Social Club and they don't even have an option to link Steam anymore, all they offer is blinking Facebook, bloody Twitter and more crap equaly unrelated to their Steam customers.
So yes, in a nutshell, you assume right - you buy the game, you are forced to register for something you don't need and then this unsolicited pile of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ would not allow you to peruse your legitimately purchased product.
Most probably, but whatever is going on they must either hold their end of the bargain or issue a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ statement. As much as I love Rockstar this is horrible performance and unexcusable lack of communication.
But then, the very moment I found out that I was expected to register for a service I do not need and do not want when I buy a game on Steam - I knew it won't lead to nothing good.
Precisely. This was the case with GTA IV Steam. What they did wth Max Payne 3: they enforced their ridiculously unwanted puddle of hogwash as a necessity to play a single player game. Takes a proper idiot to decide upon this ingenious marketing move - but here they were.
Probably GTAV related, I can wait.
