MP in Max Payne 3 PC still active?

Since GTA V will soon arrive (and its multiplayer component GTA Online) on PS3 I was thinking of buying Max Payne 3 on PC for its multiplayer component. Is the community still active in it (or does the PS3 community tromph it?), is it plauged by any cheaters perhaps?

Please do tell so I could make a decision if I want to buy MP3 or not for the multiplayer.

MP3 is great game with great story and great singlplayer,but multiplayer no just no.I have problem finding players than after that multiplayer is fun like for 10 minutes more than that its just frustrating.

Dont bother, dont waste your money. Mp in max payne 3 is not only inactive and dead, but it's filled with cheaters, sh!tloads of lags-laggers and so called 'pro's who abuse op'd guns (Dual pistols). Sometimes you can see less than 30 players and maximum 150 players (it is like this for about 5 months or more.). Since you are a console player and its a great game (except multiplayer) i suggest buy console version. There you can enjoy the story, the multiplayer without cheaters and abusers. But don't buy the pc version.

Yeah I agree with Acelil. The multiplayer on the PC is so bad that I don't want to play it any more. Cheaters, campers and a team balance that sucks most of the time is what makes the multiplayer in this game suck a lot.

I haven't seen a cheater in months. There's not too many players anymore, but there's still enough to find deathmatch games all the time. I think it's still very fun to play.

That still doesn't change that the booring fact that you can do a one hit melee kill, overpowered shotguns and dual pistols that gives you no change at all to survive(and not to forget the OP dlc weapons). If grenades wasn't one hit kills it sure would bring more realism to the game and would make it more long lasting. The rocket launchers should not be in the game. I mean come on they can have those in games like battlefield instead. There is always more to be added.

I played multiplayer for about a week, and what I found is that it could have been fun, but these things messed it up tremendously for me.

1. Everyone used OP guns such as dual pistols. Now, most argue that we all can use them. Very true, but that's not the problem. The problem is the TTK for those OP weapons is so rediculous, when coupled with lag, it makes the user impossible to beat because you're dead before the info of you being attacked even reaches the server, then sent to your client.

2. Cheaters were everywhere, and I don't mean closet cheaters, I'm talking about the blatant instant HS from anywhere type of people. There were great times where you could find a match without cheaters OR OP gun users, but those were rare.

Everybody should get on this weekend and repopulate Max Payne 3 and enjoy the game! It a good game just more poeople need to play it!

If people are up for some gangwars I don't mind. That is actually one of the things I liked about the game. It's not perfect as but is has it good sides like the gameplay is smooth and I have seen very few bugs. The game did entertain quite a bit. So if you guys would up for some gang wars im game since team death match get's booring in the long run.

I dislike getting killed in 1-2 hits(even with 'Big Dog') to the arm or hand and instantly dying while I empty half a clip into someones chest and neck, and they barely take damage.
Can anyone explain this?
Why do I have to empty half to a full clip out of the FAL when someone kills me in 1-2 hits arm/hand/leg hits with the PT pistol or the 608 revolver.

Story mode is freaking great. MP is a no, and i think its dead.
story mode is worth $60 if u ask me.
