Well I fixed the random pausing problem at least.

Razer Game Booster is the key. Just google it, you can attain it from CNET through a secure download, it essentially just stops certain functions while the game is running and then returns it all to normal when you're through.

There is still the issue of Max Payne being a pain in the ass to start sometimes and it crashing to windows once in awhile if you rapidly pause and unpause it. However, the random pausing was no doubt the most annoying bug and this seems to be the remedy. Hope it helps.

Okay so I'm back to confirm. Just played for 2 hours straight, not a single pause. I also used the Razer program to defrag the Max Payne files and that seems to have solved the crashing issue. This is definitely the fix that Rockstar should have delivered.

The bad thing is that it only works if RaZer GameBooster is running.
