MaKerL1fe -A- Nov 3, 2013 @ 4:17am
no, they have to give the money back, than fix and if we want we buy it again
Dr. NipZ Nov 3, 2013 @ 3:22pm
lol onebigerror your name applies to this situation perfectly!. I agree with you acid they need to refund our money then fix it then we will re consider buying. What they are doing is illegal, it is a faulty product and they know this. I have written about 10 emails through the steam support and not one has been replied to. And honestly I dont think they are going to give a refund or fix the problem they will just sweep it under the rug as usual.

The 777 players currently online would disagree, as would I. The game works fine, but is dependant on connectivity to the Social Club - if it's not installed properly, if it's an older version than the current, if you haven't made a SC account/linked it with Steam, if you can't connect to SC; these are all reasons why it may not be working for you.

The Social Club has also been having intermittent issues lately (due to GTA5 maybe?), causing some login issues - as in, cannot login at all. It seems a bit random, comes and goes, but most of the times I've wanted to play I've been able to do so, with only one exception lately.

Right now I can login the game fine, but the Store (and in-game Social Club) aren't working. The other day however, I couldn't connect for a couple of hours. So while the ability to play is linked directly to "can you connect to Social Club," the game itself is not faulty and works fine.

Yeh cool, but social club is run by rockstar who developed the game and without it the game cannot be accessed. So it is a faulty game as it is all connected through the back end of the games coding. I have tried reinstalling, re downloading and updating both game and social club. I get what you are saying but it still does not excuse the fact that they choose not to do anything about it. 777 people would disagree with me sure, but i can varify at least 50 people that I have seen online that have the same issue as I am having and have not resovled this issue.

is GTA 5 out on pc yet? If not, why are they ♥♥♥♥ing with the active social club. I dunno, but thanks for the advice, i would still like to get my money back as I am 99% sure it is NOT a problem on my end.

The fact that you can't connect (for some reason) does not mean the game is "faulty." There's other games out there that require online connectivity as well, and those aren't "faulty" when the servers go down (for maintenence or otherwise), or cannot be connected to by a handful of people for various/unknown reasons.

I don't know how Social Club works, if they share servers, etc. It was only speculation that the issues could be stemming from the insane activity in GTA Online. Don't quote me on that. Heck, it could even be due to Steams generally server lagginess lately - when I couldn't login to MP3 the other day, it was at the same time I kept getting errors loading Steam pages (besides the Store, which somehow ALWAYS works...).

I realize ya'll are upset and want money back, but I've done the run-around with Steam over ACTUAL non-functioning games (Takedown: Red Sabre comes to mind...) and they shut everyone down on refunds regarding that game. So while I'm not telling you not to ask for a refund, I'm just letting you know that the game itself works and neither I nor my friends have had any issues besides the ocassional times we couldn't connect to the SC.

None at all, but most of my games don't require a login. Those that do I haven't played much of lately, besides Max Payne.

Still have a sore bottom because I can actually play the game - thanks for the laughs.

Yeh cool, o well hope it eventually gets fixed then. I dunno though i think its a fine line between a faulty game and not being able to play a game because a built in function that came with the game is faulty. Cheers

It is - it's completely uneccessary, ESPECIALLY if all you want to do is play singleplayer.

It was the same situation (sort of, but worse) for EA when they released the last (I think) Sims game - required online connectivity, but they had server issues preventing people from logging on, and all hell broke loose over it.

Let's just hope R* doesn't make the same mistake for GTA5 or whatever game they put out next on PC.
