How to fix issues related to ATI/AMD drivers under Win 8
If your game is running super slow or you got that black screen bug and you are running your computer with an older Radeon HD series under Windows 8, then this might be your solution:

It does not specifically refer to Sword & Sworcery, but it is what I did to get the game to run just fine!

Thanks for the tip! We're still working on an official Windows8 update but hopefully this will help some people who haven't been able to get the game running this far!

hey fiddler, that's great news. I summarized some strategies to get the game to run under Windows 8 in an extra blog entry. This might be of help for some of you guys who experience problems running the game: http://theevilmonkeyman.blogspot.co.at/2012/12/fix-superbrothers-sword-sworcery.html

I've read the post for people not being able to run the game at all, or very slowly on windows 8

Although that is not my case and I can run the game well under windows 8, sometimes (a lot) it just freezes my computer completely, and I have to hard reset it. I don't know if the problem is drivers, because the game runs fine (when it runs, XD), at 60 fps and without any glitch.
But again, sometime just playing normally, suddenly the game (and my PC) freezes completely. No error messages, not going back to windows, no blank screen or BSOD, just completely frozen.

I have the latest drivers of my GPU, and I can run other much more demanding games at good FPSs. i.e I can run Metro 2033 at ~30 fps, so I don't know what's going on. HELP!

Specs:
HP Pavilion dv6 6c85la (laptop)
Windows 8 Pro 64 bit
8 gb RAM
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6700 series (HP names it as a 7690m XT)
AMD driver version: 9.10.8

any ideas?
