Post-Transmission Moon Grotto 7" Discoveries: Spoilers

Well, I'm officially stumped. Here is what I have so far...

I ordered the Moon Grotto 7" vinyl to "keep on digging" as instructed by the transmission phone number.

The vinyl is sleeved inside 1 of 2 puzzles One is the grid on the iPhone here: http://superbrothers.ca/moongrotto.html

There are two points at which the grids are different: spot 77, and spot 92. When these numbers are input into the phone at the website they give "secret grooves??" and "itself = 1977"

The aforementioned secret grooves when played on the turntable say "itself times itself, three times" and "itself minus a billion + 1." Entering the resulting computations into the phone gives a link to a video, http://vimeo.com/46508916 and a corresponding password, "voyager". The video has a quote from Carl Sagan.

I have no real ideas on what the video means. The other puzzle is the maze on the vinyl itself also shown on the moon grotto page. I also have no real idea how to approach that either.

I have toyed around with audacity playing the moon grotto song backwards and heard a "can you hear the moon in mono." By changing the audio to mono i heard "/burnapalefire" which led me to discover this: http://www.superbrothers.ca/burnapalefire.html. It just plays the music from the #moar achievement. It is transcribed as follows:

Ladies and Gentlemen, we've heard your cries, and we apologize for the delay.

What kind of adventure is this?

I have no idea where to go from here. The name of the secret video being ?" and the mirror image of the space ship at the 11 second mark led me to believe perhaps the maze needs to be inverted as if in a mirror, but I have no idea how to apply that information.

Running your mouse over the vinyl record image at the southwest corner highlights a box. When I use Chrome's "Inspect Element" option I get this url for that area/image: http://superbrothers.ca/moongrotto_hintblank.png. Notice that it references a "hint". I tried flipping just this area in photoshop (as referenced by your clue later down in your post) and I can't figure it out either but I'm convinced that it is a puzzle and that there is a solution!

that box indicates where the secret grooves are on the record. If you type the numbers 77 or 92 on the phone it shows up.

A lot of the information you have said above I could have never figured out BUT... I did experience something weird this morning. I was listening to the 1st track of the Album Moon Grotto 7 through my earphones on my iPod, but my earphones were breaking so I just took my earphones out of the headphone plug-in and played the song. Now here's the weird part...

THE SONG IS DIFFERENT!

It is similar to the 3rd track in the download you get when you buy the album/vinyl. I couldn't really understand what the voice was saying, but I hope this helps as a lead with what you already have so far.

Also at the beginning of the video http://vimeo.com/46508916 there are two words. 'the' and another word that has I think a 'B' (but it could be a j) then an 'ul' then I think a 'w' and then either a 'g', 'r', or 'i' then an 'e'. I got Bulwie. Nothing I searched on Google came up with any words I found. I hope you didn't see the words so I hope this helps :D

Okay, so I may be slightly late with this, but I just recently completed the game. I'm amazed at how you were able to discover all of that. I have two comments of my own. Calling the transmission number I heard... ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL. As well as return soon or something and a bit of music. As well as near the end, audio of some sort, about the universe. I have no idea what it means. And I am now sure the message doesn't change, regardless if the dark moon reigns. (Yesterday when I called, it was a dark moon and the message is the same as today) Secondly, what the heck. I input 77 in the phone right? What does the question mark mean?!?!? You can dag it but to where? Why does it show up? Also, the maze. Look at it. The dark moon. It's not there. I mean...Watch the trailer. There in the place of the dark moon is a outline of a circle. The maze solution has to do with the moons on it. Not just the maze. I'm sure of it. Anyway that's all I have discovered. Oh, wait one last thing the video. At the very start it says "The future". What could that mean?

There is one last thing I just found. Clicking the Scythian at http://superbrothers.ca/moongrotto.html a window appears. And it says something incredible. Unfortunately, the subscription is expired. I wish I knew what it said...

@Rainbow_Man : It was a speech to text converter that attempted to convert the voice mails left on the transmission number. Mostly garbled the messages with only a few words transcribed correctly.

The numbers on the phone are different now, which makes me wonder if they change based on the phases of the moon. On superbrothers.ca/moongrotto, the numbers, from left to right, top row to bottom row, are 3, 4, 51, 79. They light up in a different order though: 4, 3, 51, 79. The dots on the grid are as follows, left to right, top to bottom, first box in the upper leftcorner being 1: 10, 12, 15, 43, 46, 47, 50, 52, 64, 68, 89, 91. 43 is highlighted, and is the one that activates the sequence of four numbers mentioned earlier in this post.

Get a turntable, move the LP around by hand following the maze. Record as you do so. What does it sound like? I dunno, that's my best guess for that puzzle...

This reminds me so much of a Valve ARG. I just wish this one could be solved.

Not cool, maybe they will have another ARG through another game they will release in the future that will hopefully tie up the loose ends?
