Dear Esther Modding?
So I was thinking.
What are the possibilities you could do with this game?
I think modding could open a whole new territory.
Maybe Steam Workshop.

Thoughts?

Depends on the type of modding you're referring to. In my opinion, modding would simply destroy the purpose of this game.

Well I don't want to make it like a FPS! lol
I was thinking like create your own storyline type stuff.

Mod to mod to HL2? Should we go deeper?

It's a singular experience. A minimalist storytelling game. It's basically just source engine, so modding half life 2 would be more productive.

What's the point in modding it? It was originally just a mood for Half-Life 2. If you want to mod Dear Esther, just mod Half-Life 2. More freedom.

Yeah, not necessary a shoot game, no... but... it's a fact we (I) would like to do few things more than walk !!!! Boring ! I really like this game, but... I would like to live in, with more possibilities... why not build, talk, f*** or anything else !! Haha ha !! Hmm...

Since there is the free mod version of Dear Esther you might have more luck modding the HL 2 mod version (or was that meant when you were modcepting?). apart from that: "It's not a game tho" - depends on your definition of "game". It certainly fits my definition of "game" which could be summarized in one word "timewaster".

The video doesn't do it justice. Even my screenshot fail to capture what I tried to capture at the time I took them.. its like someone who gets used to live wallpapers and then going to static ones.. Just something missing.

Remembered how someone modded The Stanley Parable just for fun:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iijv3cfgTrM

I believe Rob wondered if they should make Esther available for modding more or less just because he loves the modding scene (being part of it himself) and to see what erious and what fun mods may get created. I might be remembering something wrong, though.
