This game wont leave my mind
So, I bought this game a while back and I posted a thread (contains spoilers)

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2829480 (Steam banned me from those forums for my opinions on piracy...but anyway...)

Dear Esther is a game that I purchased, spent approx 1 hour completing and left it. However, it has been several months and I cannot stop thinking about the narrator, Esther, the Island....

I think there should be a Dear Esther 2 which ties up all the loose ends, because there's a great story that was hidden in a vague, rather spontaneous dialogue. There's a part of me that thinks Dear Esther 2 would be a good idea.

Thoughts?

I don't think Dear Esther 2 would be a good idea. The cool thing about this game is that you can interpret it in many different ways, so making a sequel to "tie up the loose ends" would break the charm IMO.

Tying up loose ends is a trap. It sounds like something you want, but once you go and do it it's almost always unsatisfying. I would argue that part of the reason DE sticks in your mind is because of the "loose ends", and if you tie them up it will cease to be interesting (especially since by all indications, the series of "real" events that the game illustrates are actually fairly mundane).

I can only speak for myself of course, but that's how it tends to work for me.

I agree, but I think they could expand on the mysterious storyline some more. I think they were onto something big and Dear Esther should really continue.. Idk, it's a difficult choice but I really would like a sequel
