When will the Linux version be released?
I read a while ago that Dear Esther is coming to Linux and that there was a (closed?) beta. Anybody who knows when it's done and will be available?

Where did you read that? Not sure, but I thought Dear Esther was released before Source came to Linux.

All of the source games that have been released on Linux so far were originally released before source was ported. Anyways, it was mentioned both by Phoronix[] and in the twitter account of Robert Briscoe

Any updates here? I'm still waiting for it to show up in my linux games collection Jun 25, 2013 @ 9:56pm
The native version is done. Or maybe it's in beta, I don't know. I do know that a non-Wine version is available to people who bought the bundle (along-side the wine-based version). Hopefully that means it will be added to Steam soon as well.

For those who bought the HumbleBundle version, there is a native version availably for Linux. It still isn't on Steam, though. You can download it in the HumbleBundle website.

The native Linux version, which was made available under the Humble Bundle, runs great. Hopefully that means they will be able to get it onto Steam pretty soon.

I've bought the game thinking that the port was already made, tried the humble bundle native version and works ok on Nvidia (binary blob) drivers.
